I'm thinking about starting a car site, but I'm wondering about how much I would make per click. Anyone know?
Depends on what type of car site it is.. motor sport.. street mods.. imports.. car audio.. car parts.. they all pay very different amounts
It could be anything from 5 cents to $2.50 depending on the keyword. You can make decent money if you have good, fresh content no one else, or at least, not that many have. Problem with automotive pages is that content is always copied over and over everywhere.
I think they don't pay that much, watch over the internet, mortgage loan blog luxurie and so on are the high paying stuff.. and of course domains I will start a website in a month about cars but that won't be copied content since I have gigs of information.. 2-3full dvds I saw the competition and I can own 95% of them easily.. anyway good luck on your site buddy
My experience is that the autmotive niche overall pays moderately well, not super-high or super-low. But if you have a product-oriented site with reviews and information, the clickthrough rate can be quite good.
They are good... but its very difficult to distinguish yourself in a category that already is bombarded with car sites.
The Whimpering Warrior! you mean car related site is like what's in your sig ? If yes then I meant other stuff.. car radio, systems, description, manuals, documents, configs anything anybody can make an MFA car site, but how to fill it with real content, thats a bit harder.. anyway I have experience in car, radios etc since I`m 9-10 years old..
one of my car sites makes a decent amount, good click through, very high type ins and very high on the rankings for that particular car. makes an average of $0.35 per click with some clicks up around the $1 point. With about 100 visits a day, the site makes around $10 a day.
The return we see on our car site is much lower now than it was at the start of the year and the clicks are worth between $0.04 and $1
what i have been doing is a bit of research into values of advertising on car sites, it seems the advertising rates on a large site such as CarDomain is quite high, with a CPM of around $4. If you were to land an advertising deal with one of the Car companies (or the media buyers that have large car companies as clients) then you would be getting a decent amount for you advertising space. Im considering expanding one of my sites considerably with a new feature, which will increase visits and page views, aiming to get some higher paid ads.
According to overture "car insurance" is searched about 3.6 million times a month. The top bid is around $6/click. Now that's big business.
