Here's what this guy is saying from a report I'm reading: "Being that Blogger.com IS Google, just by having a blog you will get picked up by the search engines automatically, which is FREE advertising! If someone searches for beauty products, your blog may show up as one of the search results. If you post new blogs to your page often, you may even get a TOP RANKING." Is this true? If you start a blog with Google, will your site get top search engine rankings in Google for whatever niche you're blogging about? Say for example, I decided to open a new Google blog on Iron Man. Will my Iron Man blog show up in top search results for the keywords "Iron Man"?
no, this is not the case, in order to get top rankings, you need quality backlinks and content. However, blogs do get indexed really fast.
Of course it isn't true - and it doesn't say that. "your blog may show up as one of the search results" Getting indexed and showing up in the search results do not go hand in hand. You should throwaway whatever report you are reading.
i really don't think this is true, if you want a blogspot blog to be successful, you will have to do the same things as a regular blog.
Not even close to the truth. In fact, I've read on quite a few places that Bloggers blogs will sometimes take longer to be indexed then other sites.
Search engines do like blogs as they are regularly updated but its not that they will always be top ranked.
You can easy get good ranking to some extent from blogs, if you post unique content reularly. But if you have to get top ranking you need to do more than that.
