Well Blogger Blog is just another site and can be sandboxed but the reason you are on page 5 indicates that you are not sandboxed but just that your ranking has gone down. It happens as the Primary URL for instance "www.sitename .com" is given more preferenace than your Sub pages "www.sitename.com/pagename" initially your site was rankied with a particular conent... which was ranking well... now the Home page of the site is havign a different content and of course the ranking si affected accordingly

The sandbox should apply to blog as well. If you have a new blog (even a well-written one) and targets a very competitive term, you will still be sandboxed. The strategy to adopt is to target a less competitive term on your blog post, once it gains authority and got natural links, you are likely to get ranked well on a variety of related terms.

I dont see it as a sandbox thing.
Sometimes people just start applying seo from reading here and there.
Keyword stuffing could be one of the reason you search phrase might get penalize if you stuff it. Yep, instead of site, key-phrases also get penalize for various reasons.

Is there a way to tell what keywords are competitive and which ones are not?

Yeah blogger blogs do get sandboxed but getting it out of sandbox is relatively easy as your blog is frequently updated and so it keeps on getting fresh relevant one way links. In order to find out whether your blog is sandboxed by google or not

Search for your website in google eg: type ht tp://yousite.com in the search terms in google and if at the end of the result page a message like this comes then you are have been sandboxed.

"n order to show you the most relevant results, we have omitted some entries very similar to the 2 already displayed.
If you like, you can repeat the search with the omitted results included."

I have a blogger blog that has only been up for 3 months, but it has been ranking on page one of Google for a keyword for 2 months. Not a very competitive keyword, though.

I did a check on my blog, and it wasn't sandboxed, it showed as the only entry.

But, it does have this message even though it showed my blog in the results:

Did you mean: http://www.xyx.com/ (Not sure if I can put the real url in here or not, so I didn't!)

It shows that above and below the results. I have also seen that on different searches I have done. Can someone explain this? Because when you click on that link, it shows no results! It's really confusing, as that link, and the one to that webpage are the same!

    Thanks
