I have just recently set up 2 sites to display my blog RSS feed. One on www.bloglines.com, And the other blogger.com is "following" my blog, i.e. displaying my blog feed. Will these count as backlinks to my blog and a backlink to every post of my blog as these sites display my feed?
And another question... if i'm displaying my feed on another site, possibly more popular site, Is it possible this site could get crawled first? and hence my blog would be classed as duplicate content?? Alan
Other sites showing feeds is good for your main site, your doubt about more popular site getting indexed first is valid but soon your site will start ranking better because that's the actual source.
Thanks for your reply. It's something ive just came accross, the whole RSS feed thing, and was just wondering if there is any down side to basically submitting your feed to loads of other sites.
just submit your feed to as many RSS engines/feed directories you can. you will get backlinks from rss directories once your feed is added. it also helps you get your content syndicated easily
Until recently I was doing almost all my online work selling actual products through a couple websites. I recently starting up affiliate work and RSS feeds are new to me too. I did read a quick guide on putting RSS feeds to work and was very happy with the results after getting them out there to a few RSS directories. I haven't been look at it for backlinks really but the traffic it created was excellent compared to what I had been getting. Like I said, this is new stuff for me still, but the traffic results I have seen from RSS feeds so far have been great.
do follow links are very useful to get pagerank as well as backlinks. Nofollow blogs are waste o time.
