Do blog comments count as linkbacks?

Do you think adding comments to blogs count as linkbacks? on either google or yahoo?

 

It depends if the blog has do-follow on their comments.

 

Yeah comments without nofollow is counted as backlinks.

 

Blogs can be a great way to get links as stated above as long as they do not use no-follow it helps. Same goes with forums also if they use no-follow it does not help you. A lot of people I think forget the quality links you can get in a blog or a forum.

That is true about wordpress. However, there are plugins and/or modifications that you can do to make it dofollow.

 

Yeah some of the webmasters install this plugins to promote the commenter .But some others disable for getting rid of spammers.

But in my personal experience : Blog Comment Links are really great and traffic generators.

some blogs have a nofollow attribute and that will not be counted as IBL

 

Right click a previous comment, and see if it has no-follow on it. If it just says "External" then it counts as a backlink.

 

a lot of blogs are now using no follow. It is the wordpress default now which is the most used blog software around.

 

no follow tags have no weight whatsoever, all it does is tell search engines that the links placed here were not placed by the site webmaster so do not devalue this site because of the links placed here and place less value on the external links. Also, make sure you finish crawling and indexing my site before you follow the external links.


There have been test which revealed no follow has little weight, as the test was done by using an obscure anchor text on blog comments and then seeing if the site actually ranked for that keyword ... and it sure did! This was a while ago and I can't remember where I seen this, but this is easy to test and prove yourself. I know for myself, I have backlinks from blog comments with the no follow tag in place. No follow is a joke!

 

Yeah blog commentting is one of my ways to get free backlinks.

 

Can I ask what this "No-Follow" and "Do-Follow" is all about? I have never heard about it so could someone please explain?

 

No-Follow = Spiders dont follow this link.
Do-Follow = Spiders follows and count as linkback.

 

we LOVE dofollow blogs, but they are rare and not really worth the effort of finding!

it will not be counted as backlink because most of them blog are adding nofollow to their outgoing links to prevent comment spam

 

I have removed the no-follow tag on my blog. It's easy to find lists of do-follow blog. It's an excelent way to gain backlinks.
