    Hi guys

I haven't implemented any banner adds before, but I was wondering if its worth putting them up instead of text ads.

I was under the assumption that the more text ads I have the more smartpriced my EPC would be.

Anyone have succes with banner ads?

In theory enabling image ads should end up getting you more revenue than text ads alone. The image ads compete with text ads in the bidding, so if you allow image ads there are more ads competing for the spaces on your site. I personally haven't tried any extensive tests with image ads enabled vs. text only to see if it makes a difference.

Image ads vs. text ads wouldn't have any effect on smartpricing. What effect smartpricing is how well the click from your site convert, regardless if they were on an image ad or text ad.

I use a mix. I switched to image only and found it to pay terribly. I was getting a lot of unrelated ads due to supply shortage on image ads. The pay per click was also much lower for the same reason.

I use 2 text ads and 1 image in one of my sites, try to mix them in your site as so the image looks as part of your site, play with it that way you can get a balanced sum of clicks..

Image Ads are normally low paying ads, but, since its an image it draws attention of the viewer and thus have higher CTR.

Same in adwords, 1000 text ad attract 1 click but 200-300 image banners attract 1 click, Almost thrice the rate.

I'm under the impression that banners actually do pay more than text ads/links but I could be wrong

Abhik is right, we use image ads as they attract more attention in comparison to text ads and therefore give more revenue.
