Just that, I'm wondering... if I put a banner in my site pointing to www.justademo.com, will the banner count as a backlink for justademo.com? Thanks for your answers.
Yes, the banner will count as a backlink and if justademo.com installs a text or banner link to your site, it will count as an inbound link. Text links have more weight, provided the text contains the keywords that the site is optimized for.
Yes they count as backlinks, if the banner is displayed directly by [img ] [/ img] tag, without using any banner manager. What that means is, if you can see your website url in the browser status bar, by hovering your mouse pointer on top of the banner, you can be sure, it will count as a backlink. But since there is no anchor text, it wont help much. But if the page that is displaying your banner has got your target keywords in the filename and page title it will help you.
Technically no, not unless the buttons and images have Alt txt on them. And if your buying banner space or the like, they probably dint offer that option...
It's a backlink to your website. But one thing is that you lose the popularity for special keyword. Text links have anchor text with keyword inside, and you have more backlinks with a special keyword as the anchor text, when people type in that keyword in google, your chance of showing up and rank top will be higher. Now, you lose this chance.
Any link from an image will count as a back link but use the alt tag for your keywords just like you would in a text link.
Something is always better than nothing So if you are offered only a banner link and NOT a text link , go for the banner link !
