Do banned adsense accounts have money returned ?

After reading what must be hundreds of threads from members saying there account was banned for invalid clicks it got me thinking, google says in the banning email that all moneys will not be paid to the advertiser and money returned to the respective adwords accounts.

do google return all moneys from fraudulant accounts ?

Has anyone ever tried setting up an adwords and seperate adsense account. buying adwords to put on a site they have built then clicked the ads to see if all money is returned ?

Does anyone audit google for this ?

could be interesting to see just how honest google really is ;)

Every month i get about 1-2% of my adwords budget returned also.
but is it the full amount or do google take out admin costs ect ?

thats why i am asking if anyone has any documented evidence that ALL money is returned.

Well this would be very difficult to ascertain. Even if you know the bid of a certain keyword it changes on a day-by-day basis and if you factor in smartpricing in the equation then it would be impossible to see.

However, I do not believe that Google would take the risk of "stealing" some revenue from the Advertisers. They simply have much more to gain from keeping their advertisers happy and refunding the whole amount... I'm sure that refund gets spend on Adwords in any case.

He does have a good point. How would an advertiser ever know they were being stolen from. With no disclosure on googles part, there's no way to tell. I guess the advertisers are just supposed to take their word for it.

BTW, loved the Astronomy Blog, Cursader. Very, very nice.

Well, Google could choose not to do any refunds whatsoever and the Advertiser wouldn't be any wiser. Luckily they don't do that and in the end they refund an Advertiser for invalid clicks. Pretty nice of them. From their viewpoint it enhances customer satisfaction and trust in their network, and the refunds are naturally used for other campaigns by the advertiser.

    Thanks! Glad you lilke it.

    Hi..guys
adding on to greenway questions....do Adsense they track by IP address? If i subscribe adsense via my home IP address....then I use another IP address to click them; they won't know right? But dat begs another questions.....how many times adsense allows dat particular IP address to click & still pays to dat adsense publisher?

Sounds like you got the plan, why dont you try and let us all know how it works out.

Only people who worry about getting banned, are the people who deserve it. (Or your just a a worrywart ;) )

I have used adwords and been a victim of invalid clicks, though using correct keywords. My ad money was spent on for irrelevant keywords, though Google agreed it never returned the money, but credited balance to adwords account.
