Do autoblogs really bring in all that traffic?

I keep reading posts about autoblogs building up traffic fast - unusually fast in my opinion. For example: I'll read how a website was created in Jan 2010 and by May 2010 it will be received 200+ unique visits / month and only require 3 to 4 hours a week of manual updating.

I have seen some people with autoblogs making anywhere from a low $2.00 a month all the way to several hundred dollars a month with them. I'm guessing SEO helped with driving that traffic to autoblogs and will probably varie greatly per autoblog. I read post after post about autoblogs and it brings me to wonder...

Do autoblogs really receive that much traffic? - What are your opinions / any proof?

Autoblogs done correctly can generate a lot of income. If you setup networks they will quickly pay for themselves and can generate a larger amount of revenue
