i have 2 sites. one having name myurl.com & another is myurl1.com, myurl having PR 5 & myurl having PR 0. i got many backlinks from myurl.com & no backlinks from myurl1.com, if i redirect myurl1.com to myurl.com then does my PR (myurl.com PR 5) affected? does it mean both domains are working? so can i do link building for both domains? or redirect mysite1.com to mysite.com & do linkbuilding for myurl.com. what this technique called? is that a part of BLACK HAT SEO??

Thanks 4 reply, in advance ..:)

No, this type of redirect is not black hat, if that's what you are asking. Use 301 redirect and you will be fine.

It would make sense if you build links from outside rather than cross linking,

Be careful about crosslinking in any way. Google will jump on you for it an your PR5 will goto a PR3.

There are no perfect answers of course.

Why not just do a bit of link building for your PR0 site using articles, blogs etc? If you've got PR5 already you must know how to build things up.

You can Go with 301 Redirection for your Query, your site'll not loose PR Juice and Links.

Let us know if you are facing any other queries so we can explain with better answers.

Explain in details if you want to do anything else.

    Have you read these things:

    1) "Bad neighbors decrease the site Value"
Having links on your site pointing to too low PR sites will decrease the PR of your site also. This applies to the links pointing to your sites also..
If mysite1 (PR5) gets traffic from a mysite2 (low PR) this will decrease the PR of mysite1.

    2) Redirection is mainly to tell "We have moved to a New/Different Location"
or to tell that the typed domain is a part of some other site.
If you redirect(301) mysite2 to mysite1, then it will be considered that mysite2 is just a second name..
Eg: Some companies hold a domain name with many TDL but point it to a single TDL. mainsite.net mainsite.org mainsite.info all are Redirected to mainsite.com .

This will imply that you are having a Single Working Site but 2 Domains for it.
If you use 301 Redirection for the mysite2 to your mysite1, then it will not have adverse effects on the mysite1 ranking.

If your mysite2 had a BAD reputation/ranking then redirection will decrease the ranking of mysite1 for few days till google does all the crawling and processes it. Later mysite1 will gain back what it had lost.
