I am trying to figure out how to re-design my header at www.wholesalechecklist.com. Currently, as you can see, I have a banner at the top that goes all the way across and it serves as my logo. I know, I know, its standard, hard to read, not unique, etc etc. That is why I want something new - something fresh - up there. The question is, should I redo a banner with similar dimensions and just replace it? Or should I get a standard logo done that is smaller and put it at the top left? Also, if you think I should do a small logo in the top left, what should I do with the empty space created at the top right? Leave it empty? Fill it with what?
The site is quite basic so a nice logo design would help the design out a lot. If I were you, I would redo it.
banners and logos are not the same thing. a logo would be placed on a banner. a banner stretches across the top of the page whilst a logo serves as a form of identity. Simple answer replace banner with a nice designed one including a logo.
Another approach is to fill in the space with solid color and place actual formatted (css) text, which will of course, get crawled... think keyword phrase. Frank
