Do any SEO companies guarantee a first page on Google or Yahoo?

Agree, that is all that is needed and with that, word of mouth is great for work. I think I was talking a little tongue in cheek, but only a little!

I am afraid my site rose to about 20th with very few links, just on page stuff. I am now pushing it higher with relevant links, up to about 2,800 now, but all the ones around me have 5 times that many, so a long way to go.

But and this is a warning to all those that rely on off page stuff. Google will one day down grade other links, like they did with the directories recently and if the site is not fully optimized, on the on page side, many many websites will drop as Google fights back against all the link profiteering that goes on. If that happens, I will be very happy!!!

 

For most Local SEO companies if you need under 1,000 backlinks and some onpage factors it should be easy to obtain for low or medium keywords.

For very competitive keywords with thousands of back links there are only few companies I can thin of that will guarantee 10 ten in either yahoo or google.

An extremely competitive keyword in keyword difficulty range of 85%to 95% for a big corporate company might run $5,000 to $40,000 a month to maintain considering the the thousands of companies competing for a term and the budgets of those companies.

If you are looking to rank for "bob fishing shop" almost anyone (well maybe not anyone but anyone common seo knowledge) should be able to guarantee that if you are looking for "ipod" it is possible for some to obtain but the budget, age, optimization and traffic is usually beyond that of a average site or seo firm to obtain. And I even believe those highly competitive terms can be obtained if the means to do it are available a budget and good content being #1 on the list..

I think the whole point here is what exactly is the guarantee for? Because if it's a guarantee that you can get on the first page of the major search engines for the name of your own site, then that's easy to guarantee - anybody should be able to do that.
If it's for a competitive keyword - that's a very different thing.

Nobody will give the guarantee for top position in the SERP.

 

That is not guaranteed. whoever claims that they can guarantee you to be #1 then that's a false claim.

 

I think most people here don't understand what a guarantee is.
Or are not defining it right. If the seo company doesn't come through do they...
(1) get killed (2) get sued (3) get thrown in jail (4) give the money back (5) work until they get it
etc...
the guarantee comes with a consequence if what they say will happen doesn't happen.

Since the backend of SERPs is highly predictable, all good seo companies worth their salt
would guarantee their work - as in give a refund, or work until they do what they say they will.

I think no one such SEO company that can guarantee for top ten on search engine, Might be some SEO company use white hat or black hat SEO tips, but its not sufficient to beat search engine algorithm.
