Hey all, Seen a lot of these plugins which basically scrape product info from the Amazon product and post it on your blog, I'm sure we have all seen these. I was wondering do these actually work? Especially with Google's panda update I doubt that they actually would, has anyone had any consistent earnings from an auto amazon site? Cheers Josh
Why not write your own review instead of auto review? Auto review sites will not work anymore and Google will never indexed auto review pages to their index.
Yes, Amazon review sites do work. I make a very solid monthly income as an Amazon Associate. However, simply scraping the Amazon product descriptions is not the best way to go about things. Although I do own a handful of autoblogs that do exactly that, the earnings from those sites pale in comparison to those sites that I actually put some work into.
I've been working with a new one that combines some content that is pulled from Amazon with custom introduction and conclusion texts for each product. It also lets you bring in customer review content and even negative reviews so you can use it to help steer people at other products. I highly doubt that sites that are 100% scraped would be of much use.
Even I feel with google updates it is difficult to rank with duplicate content. I feel manual reviews with perfect unique content will help in reviews and to earn money from those review posts. It is truly said that it is hard to earn consistently.
The Panda update made it harder for amazon review sites to generate traffic from search engines, but the internet is a massive place! There are hundreds of other ways to generate traffic to your sites .. I'm not saying search engine traffic is impossible, it's just harder, since Google started penalizing lower quality content
I think manual post is better than auto, or if you want to make auto post, set it to draft post, then edit before you publish it
Either way, it's a hard road, I have several review sites, some auto-blog some where I spend all day writing, and no conversions. It's not an easy thing, it's not an impossible thing. However, I see a lot of people say they make serious money, and yet never post a link to their site, so I'm not sure if it's even a reality.
I would rather pay someone to do the review with specific criteria, so it look unique in google eye if you have money, you can outsource the whole task from write the review, do the backlink, create website and etc. this would be time saving, make sure you know how to do it the right way.
What I've found works marginally well is to have a site where you regularly blog about your topic but have little or no affiliate links and then a "store" page where you embed products with something like wpzonbuilder.
Doing things manually and in your own words as opposed to content scraping will always be the best regardless of any Google update, it's just common sense. It still amazes me however, that there are numerous Amazon product reviews by people using free methods like Google sites, Blogger, Wordpress and Webs.com that have clearly just pasted the info from Amazon and are on page one of Google for the relevant keyword phrase even after the Penguin update of April 2012?
Any kind of automated poster will fail eventually. You might get a bit of short term success but it is much better to build a good quality website for the long term.
I am making serious bank with a handful of review sites and they all have ranked (and continue to rank) extremely well. Panda hurt "poor" review sites. Traffic to my sites has only improved with each update.
