Do Amazon Associates Banners count as ads to a search engine?

    Hey guys,

In it's recent updates Google has apparently began to 'punish' pages that are saturated with ads & do not have much unique content. I don't believe that my website is either saturated with ads or lacks unique content, however I'm interested to know if Amazon Associates banner adverts 'count' to Google as an ad - So if my website was saturated with AA ads above the fold, would they recognise it and punish it? Thse are the sort of banners I'm talking about, by the way: http://www.flickr.com/photos/77254991@N07/8394757886/in/photostream

    Cheers!
