Lots of people have anything between 30 and 100 sites , but how many of those make money through adsense. Are you wasting your time on some? Did you create some of them in order expliot some niche but have them to be not worthwhile?

I have many sites which I created just because I thought it would be amusing. Some of them have very little monetization potential, but all provided some degree of amusement.

I've tried to convince myself to sell them off, but I just can't seem to part with them.

Non profit sites - for fun
Note that i have created tons of non profit sites too and spend 2-3 hours daily monitoring them. I am doing this not because of profit but i am really interested in those sites.

about 30% of the new sites i make don't make money. I usualy forget about a site if after 1 mont it produces less than $1/day.

My process is almost the reverse of the one you guys are following.

As soon as I get a reasonably decent idea, I register a site and build some content on it. Then, I wait six months to a year for the site to get past the sandbox and to get a bonus from Google for being around for awhile. Only at that point do I evaluate whether I want to invest further resources into the site.

For example, Be a Private Investigator is currently in the aging process. It's only got a few days of content building invested and it only gets a wee bit of traffic -- but I do think that it has potential.

I think that all sites with traffic make money. Amount of money depends of niche and quality of webmaster.
