Do all the big names in SEO (Shoemoney, A. Wall etc) conduct thier own experiments?

    Head on question: Where do all these SEO 'experts' get their knowledge from?

    Google doesnt tell them anything.

    Do they conduct their own SEO experiments with proper controls?

    they just post all kinds of crap they make up or hear around on their blogs and forums and everyone believes them, so it becomes knowledge :D

    Same way you can.. Test everything. you never know what little gem you might find. Yep it's painful but hey you cant become a millionaire unless your willing to work for it.

    You should be doing your own tests to begin with.
