I'm doing a persuasive on abortion and I am pro-choice. While doing some research that question came to my mind, so I googled it. Interestingly enough, it seems as if Christians(don't mean to stand them out, all the opinions I read were christian) cannot come in to agreement as to what happens to the baby/fetus. The two interesting one I've found were: 1. The baby goes to hell, because we are all born as sinners, and the baby never proved himself/herself. 2. The baby goes to heaven because god is a reasonable being. Now regardless of which one is true I believe religion will have some explaining to do, if 1 is true that means that god is an unreasonable being, and if 2 if true that would mean that the mothers are actually doing the babies a favor, after all which one of you would be mad if you could be sipping tea with jesus right now because your mother aborted you. Please let me know what you think about it, I'm also interested what individuals from other religions think.

Unless the woman got pregnant due to reasons outside her control (like rape) its her fault and she should be made to live with it rather than allowed to commit murder. I'm not religious but lets talk about human rights, after all its human life that is being taken.
If there is a God, he created abortion. It is a natural process. IMO, Smart couples don't announce their pregnancies before 12 weeks due to the large possibility of miscarriage. Refusal to abort is another way religion creates impoverished populations. **People who use Abortion as birth control should be sterilized.
Abortion is sad for sure - but it takes two people to create a baby; so you can't put it all on the woman, Helvetti. ^-^; Also, condoms break, people get pregnant from time to time on the pill, etc. No, abortion shouldn't be used as birth control - this is sick - however if I got pregnant and was in a situation where I knew I couldn't care for the child, or it was at a high risk of developing a painful disease (it does happen) I'd consider abortion seriously.
I'm talking about giving birth to the baby, the man can't do much about it even if you make him responsible. Sure in critical cases like possibility of death during delivery or disease or multiple pregnancy and rapes abortions should be allowed but one can't say "I gotta kill my baby because the condom broke ya know" pregnancies only happen when one is not careful.
Not true. Babies are born on birth control all the time, even if all the procedures are followed perfectly. My first daughter is testament to that . This discussion always boil down to a debate of when life begins. Very few sane people, pro-choice or pro-life, would agree to murder is OK to alleviate a financial burden or post rape guilt. The discussion always comes back to, when does it become murder.
I was referring to this post. Not about giving birth, about getting pregnant. The male partner is equally responsible for contraception - it isn't the female's fault any more than the males unless she LIES about being on the pill or using an alternative. If a male is unable to be responsible in that department then he is definitely not someone who is ready for sex.
I don't know how else I could have put it but I assume my point was clear. When we are talking about abortions the arguments are related to responsibilities and rights of the woman.
