Do Abandoned Blogs Get Deleted Eventually?

    Suppose I start a blog on a free blog host such as Wordpress.com, LiveJournal.com, or Vox.com. Then suppose I make some posts but after a few months completely abandon the blog and never even log in to it again.

    Will that blog automatically be deleted after a certain period of inactivity?

    I don't think they will be automatically deleted. But it will all depend on those sites because they will make the decision to either keep or delete the blogs.

    In my experience, you can abandon a blog from the second you sign up at Wordpress.com and they will never delete it. I've seen some blogs as old as 2006 that have not had a single post since.

    I don't think so.

    Reputed companies like Automattic will keep the blog up as long as the user wants them to ( provided they don't break TOS)

    I've seen some very old blogs that haven't been updated since they were registered.

    Unless they break the TOS, they'll stay running til the end of time.

    Nope. They won't get deleted automatically. It has to be done by the blogger who started the blog.
