Sorry for the duplicate posting - this was originally posted in the wrong forum: We recently started a new site (www.BeeDrop.com). It's an online database viewing system where people can add their own information. Due to the nature of the site a large number of pages (thousands) can be created every week. When the site first started traffic was increasing at a nice rate every week. About two weeks a large number of pages were added and this week traffic declined dramatically. The pages are still listed in Google. It would be nice to know what caused the drop off. Is it a good idea to limit pages on a new site ? Could something else be causing the decline ? Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks.
The amount of pages should decrease traffic, if you have a good file and site structure visitors should have no problem getting around on your website.
Someone at the Big "G" must have requested your pages "BeeDropped" from the SERPS (joke) Don't know what has happened to your site, can't work it out. Sorry
There's usually a boost in SERP when a site is first started. After, it gets dropped off and you have to work for your rank. There's also something called the sandbox effect. Check out the SEO section.
i think they may not hurt your seo but you will need so much time and BACKLINK to get traffic for your web site
large number of pages do not hurt your ranking. IF anything it helps...larger sites tend to do well in SERPS. just look at this forums, imagine the amount of pages that get created everyday. Your site is new and what you experienced is normal for new sites. keep working on your site...building links...
