My question is, once you find the once cent clicks, don't they have to be related to the product you're selling? I guess they don't get any cheaper than one cent...
Did you get them from content or search network? If from content, do you get them from site-targeted or keywords? I also see that you're running some tests on site-targeted PPC. Are you able to get 1 cent clicks from that as well?
i got 5 cent clicks for one of my campaigns, though google seems to jump it from 5 to 10 cents depending on its mood.
You will get 1 cent clicks galore from myspace related sites and gaming sites. sometimes you even get clicks that don't pay anything lol. 5 cent clicks are never good to hear for a publisher >=|
More content than search, but there are still some opportunities in search. Both. A very, very, very small amount...like less than 0.50% of the clicks I've received. They were on sites that I ended up dropping anyway.
Is there a way to find out what each keyword cost per click, without going through setting up a campaign first... etc?
Yes, select the tools->keyword tool and enter your search term. click the drop down menu and choose "cost and ad position estimate".
A number of my campaigns have £0.01 minimum bids, and most have minimum bids of £0.03 or less (even if I don't usually bid that little) - it depends entirely on your minimum bid quality score. So if you have a very good ctr, a great landing page and relevant advert text, then you've got a good chance of getting a low minimum bid.
If you are in a competitive niche low minimum bids don't matter. If there are 40 advertisers all with perfect quality scores and all with the same minimum bids, the only way to get a decent position is by bidding higher.
I haven't gotten one cent clicks but I have gotten five cent clicks. They tend to be for longer keywords, like 3+ words in length. But now that I heard about the one cent clicks I might try to see what I can get..
I do MASSIVE keyword research using my various keyword research tools (all of which I have in my Wiki under keyword list building) and I have yet to find highly profitable AdWord keywords that are less than $.20 a click...
Don't dispair for not finding five cent keywords. You could always bring the costs of costly keywords down with a bit of optimisation.
