I have a domain cheeky.me.uk this points to ns1.ace4space.com and ns2.ace4space.com The server is up and has been for a while and there are no problems with my other domains pointing at the same server. The website can be found most of the time but sometimes it says it can't. If i use a different computer or a proxy server it can me seen. I have tried flushing dns and renewing ip etc. It seems to come on and offline as it pleases. The nameservers have not changed and its not just ei7 that it happens in. When it cant be found it wont work in ei7, firefox or with my integrio uptime scout. the strange thing is that the foler cheeky.me.uk/images can be seen as an index even if the cheeky.me.uk doesnt resolve??? It is a wordpress 2.6 site. I am so stuck and have tried everything, Any ideas>>?? Please! Its getting annoying! Matt
Integrio uptime scout reports a 301 permenant removed error when it cannot find it (about 25% of the time) Matt
Do you use any proxies in your browser? Try using ip address instead of the hostname in either of the browsers and check.
ip 72.232.141.108/~cheeky/ shows the same error as cheeky.me.uk I have a problem with ftp.cheeky.me.uk also sometimes but 72.232.141.108 resolves fine?? I have used the introdns service and compared two uk based domains one being rabbitroasters.co.uk (whish resolves and works perfectly) and the other being cheeky.me.uk I cannot see a difference at all, this is annoying me now? Why does this happen intermittently?
UPDATE: This IS NOT a problem worldwide. This is a problem I have now found with my computer. I have got many domains I regularly look at. I monitor them with integrio uptime scout also. The problem is is that cheeky.me.uk wont resolve in my browser or in integrio. permenantly. When this error occurs only resetting my router and restarting the computer fixes the issue, only for it to restart after a few minutes. This also affects the ftp.cheeky.me.uk (I have to use the IP address for ftp to maintain access) Has any one got any ideas? I know its not a worlwide issue as I have used website monitoring tools and proxy servers to confirm that the site is up and running ok even though I cannot find it directly from my browser?? I am so stuck with this! Whats wrong? Matt
