im really new to this and i need help.

i have a domain which i want to setup as my custom domain
    for my tumblr account. www.tumblr.com

so tumblr says i need to change my domains A Record, not its nameservers. see here http://www.tumblr.com/help/custom_domains
so i did it on my sub-domain successfully and it works.
    check blog.myurl.info

but problem is i still want to connect the same domain myurl.info
    on my own host.
    is this possible?
coz there is a note on my domain account's DNS Manangement PAGE saying:

A domain name must use our NS1.NAME.COM, NS2.NAME.COM, NS3.NAME.COM, and NS4.NAME.COM name servers in order for DNS Management to function.

does it mean when i used A-Record i cant connect my domain to my own host?
i tried adding myurl.info on A-Record and i pointed it to my host's IP address.

but it wont work. try checking myurl. info nothing is there
    while blog .myurl. info exist.

    how can i fixed this?
how can i point my domain to my host w/o using the nameserver? is there any other way?
coz when point my domain to my host name server, the A Record wont work....
    is this possible?

sorry if its confusing. i really dont fully understand these things. hehe PEACE!

    1. Update your domain to use your hosting company names servers
    2. Add the subdomain with it's A record to the DNS zone via your hosting company. Any half decent host can do this for you if they don't allow you to do it yourself.
    3. Upload your site to your hosting company and wait the mandatory 24 - 48 hours for the name server changes to take effect.

or alternatively you add the IP of the server to the zone via the domain management you've already used.

Personally I'd go with the first option as then you don't have to fluff about with MX records and so on, it's just simply adding 1 record.
