DNS and Domain Registrar's Downtime

When a registrar is experiencing downtime for a day or so, would this affect your website as well? I ask because this might mess with the DNS setup that was configured.

Namecheap.com was down for a little while yesterday, and so was my blog. Now that they are back up, my blog is only showing half of the actual website- most likely from the DNS servers still propagating.

    Thoughts?

That depends. If you were using the registrar's DNS, and it so happens those
very same DNS got affected, then certainly your website will go down.

But if you mean the registrar's website was down, then you won't be able to
log inside your account to make any domain name record change. Or if you've
just made a change and then the registrar's website went down soon after,
but the registrar's systems still sent the DNS change to the Registry, that's
not going to have any effect.

All in all, no one really knows without being able to examine all the facts.
