Stories like this really piss me off. This guy spent 24 of his 45 years of life (that's more than 50% of his life people) as a prisoner, labeled a rapist. He's spent more years in jail than I've lived so far, I can't imagine having that kind of time being taken away from me...

Please Support the Innocence Project! They have helped get 173 innocent people exonerated.

I hope this guy gets millions of dollars from the state for this crime against humanity.... although there's no amount of money that can justify what our society has done to him hopefully he can enjoy the rest of his life.

Yeah, our justice system is a bunch of garbage. That is a long time to be in prison for a crime you didn't commit.

Man, can you imagine the relief that comes with this new freedom? Walking in the sun outside prison walls made him feel like a million bucks already

And there are a tons of others like him i presume.

How does a person who's spent their entire adult life in a 6x6 foot prison cell surrounded by crazy homicidal maniacs ever adjust to the outside and live a normal life?

Imagine the mental impact it must have a person to be locked up and turned a blind eye to from society after being found guilty of horrible crimes you didn't commit...

I read somewhere that prisoners (after years in jail) can get a phobia of society so that when they are freed they actually break the law again just to go back in..

Yes, these are the tragedies of life. Did you also ever think about innocent people who were executed by death penalty verdict?! Those people will never get any compensation at all, won't they?

True, but nonetheless i would feel great when i gain freedom after such a long period of time and i guess adjusting to normal life and the ability to that is a case on case bases regarding the ability to adjust yes or no.

In the case you described the majority of the people wil acknowledge he is innocent since dna evidence has clearly proven this (but then again maybe there are still morons who believe he is guilty) fortunately, but unfortunately there are people coming out of jail for a crime that they didn't commit and are innocent and will be turned a blind eye just as you said.

And that is sucks to say the least.

And it is true that a percentage of people that served a long period of time anyhow long enough for them who experience this that they want to back to jail since they are used to the routine of everything and can not sustain on their own anymore in real society.

It is hard to imagine but unfortunately it is true.

But my guess is that Alan Crotzer feels great for gaining his freedom and that everything will go for the better now and with the help of his family and not to forget hopefully a hefty sum of money he can get a better life now.

Hopefully he has a strong personality and he can forget...well deal with al the shit he had to endure on the inside (rape, violence and being on your toes every second of the day) and enjoy the money and the presence of his supporting family.
