I have that problem with Fryman: Last year, he was "SpamKiller" trying to score points by insulting people he thought were "newbies"... now he's become one of those Bobbing Helmet dolls mounted on the back of pink Barbie bicycles, and instead of trying to score points by insulting people he thinks are "newbies", now he's... no wait... bad example :D

Being a subscriber of conspiracy theories, I now think you Anthony are a mole and have launched an investigation via the secret EDMOZ API.

I will parse the data when the power company gives me the OK, the CPU needs extra current for the query.

    In the mean time...

    Trust no one I say.

Damn right you can trust no one, you guys have heard of double agents, well TOOT is at least a triple agent

He is an editor for Joe Ant, is involved in DMOZ controversies at the same time and that is really a conflict of interest and makes me wonder why he is involved at all with the DMOZ issues, that is like someone from MSN commenting on Google on the forums

Plus TOOT goes from here, to there (RZ), to his forum, then to Ihelpyouforums which is an arch enemy of DP

TOOT you have a hell of a lot of explaining to do here

Not really IMO. I had the same passion when I discovered the crap going on in another popular software package and was pissed and wanted everyone to understand fully what they were actually dealing with. That did not make me popular from some of the replies I got.

This guy is doing the same thing IMO. He's trying to champion an idea quite a few agree with and taking it on the chin at the same time from the opposition. But he aint hiding.

I didn't hide either. We both put our actions where I mouths are, took a stand and tried to do better at it. Using any medium we could to convey our passion (read message).

You too may be passionate about something to this degree and if you reach deep inside, you will most likely find an experience that helps put this in perspective for you.

    Cheers.

Noppid, I understand TOOT real well and he knows this, so only TOOT himself can fill us in on the real reasons on how he got into this mess.

It will be fun to hear from him and he knows we can cross check him with all of his past posts.

So TOOT, make sure you give us the real version of what is going on so we do not continue to speculate here

That's cool and all, but if you keep posting, I'll have someone to reply to.

I have no clue if I'll agree with what I'm typing tonight, tomorrow.

Well TOOT is going to have to explain why he left the movement and joined with the enemy, then how can he even do thus when he works for JoeAnt

PS: TOOT is going to have a hard time getting out of this one

Well screw him then, let's claim the book rights!

I have a bunch of money we can throw at a ghost writer and create about a 2K word or more article on why the DMOZ is a conflict of interest if you connect the dots of those involved.

I know that we could incite the hiring of an attorney to debunk the article which would be purely fact with links to the facts of actions. We could make them spend thousands, perhaps millions, defending the article and it's publicly available information bibliography from where we draw our assertions which would be of no consequence to us and cost under $500.00.

A press report for every bone head move they make would be cheap too.

We could do this with the support of very few people.

    Yeah, that's the ticket.

Once we get a movie deal and the right actors and a good soundtrack, we'll be set for life.

To hell with the book, this one is going straight to a live reality show featuring TOOT playing himself (a Joe Ant Editor) getting involved with the anti-DMOZ underground, then when he finds out it is not good SEO to fight with DMOZ editors.

After finding out it is not good for any SEO firm who wants to get clients ranked to fight with DMOZ editors, TOOT then leaves the underground and joins with DMOZ editors in the hopes of getting listings for his clients in the directory

All of this happened at the same time TOOT was working as an undercover editor for DMOZ competitor JoeAnt  :p

What is this going to accomplish but cause a deeper division between DMOZ and webmasters?
btw I also edit Skaffe, and Zeal but I am not a zealot (I flunked their quiz twice).

I can answer myself: it accomplishes nothing - is all about venting frustration like RZ accomplishes fighting spam.

That's a great idea, it's just as whored out as the DMOZ, so in a real market we should get the rights cheap!

As publishers posting the truth with reference, we have no liability, we can only profit! A small investment for a potential windfall!

I'll call my attorney and see how we have to mind the libel and slander laws, perhaps even publish through them.

However, I think we'd be lucky to get a movie maker to do it. Michael Moore is busy. I hear and he's over priced anyway.

You really have to pay attention, tutor. I keep telling you: There is no way to heal that division and no way to heal DMOZ.

The only answer is to use those WMDs we got from Saddam.

How about that fat guy who ate nothing but McDonald's for a whole month, nearly died, and got too tired to have sex any more?

    He'll do anything :D

Let's not get into WMD's. Bush, being a Texan, does not want anyone to know he thought rock was a WMD.
