More often than not, never. It all depends on which way the wind is blowing. DMOZ is the internet's largest collective turd-polishing act. Why not consider spending a few bucks and getting listed in a credible, well maintained directory ;)

I submitted a month ago and I am already approved. It depends on category.
Like they said, just submit and forget!

As long as a piece of string. ;)
In other words, there are no time frames involved, because reviewing suggestions is not a priority for volunteers, who are free to build the directory in all sorts of ways.

The above advice is quite correct. You have done all you can or need to do by making a suggestion. Thanks for that, and if an editor chooses to look at the pool of suggestions, he or she might find some worth listing. One of them might be yours. :)

There is no fix time for approval in DMOZ.

There are categories where there is one active editor and a backlog of 2000 submissions. It's not hard to imagine that approval in that situation takes months.

Thanks for all your replies frens ! But I am not solely dependent on DMOZ.I guess multiple channels for link building is the need of the hour.
