The fact that you have had several answers to your "question" and continue to ask it suggests that you are trying to troll, not learn.

Favoritism? Naah. Discretionary calls are part of our job. If every call was perfectly templated we wouldn't need human editors... Robozilla would do the job by himself.

I think the answer Q gave is about as close as I'm going to get to an answer, so I'll drop the matter.

So if you suddenly had big change in your life you would rather shut down a website (since you want be able to maintain it anymore) in which you invested years of work, which has busy community instead of selling or giving it someone who might continue your work???

And yes people do develop websites and then sell them as do managers who like big challenges and start a company from scratch and then they sell it when they get bored when it succeeds and start another one and another one...

Not to be harsh but if you haven't figured things out yet you should really schedule few sessions with minstrel.

So it isn't favoritisms to lurk in seo forums for ownership changes but when ownership change is well known it is ignored even when content might change?

BTW didn't Topix change owner too, shouldn't all those links get delisted and returned on case by case basis? :p

You got me there, Ivan, I did that very thing with a forum I started, I turned ownership over to someone else so the members could continue posting to each other. Good example.

That makes sense too, you're on a roll here. ;)

If I did that, we'd need a third therapist. :D

Ivan - Again, we're here to help people with questions about how the directory works, not to seek your advice on how to run it.

    Thanks anyway.:)

Would you mind pointing us to a post where you've helped someone?

Sorry son, but I'm not gonna do your homework just because you don't care to. Pay attn in class. ;)

    Note To Mods:
The OP's question has long since been answered. We're in "Watch the Usual Suspects Toss Anti-ODP Flyers" phase. Close her down whenever... meanwhile we'll play along with Ivan and his little friend (the shrink with the Dmoz fixation).

Are you now delivering orders to the DigitalPoint staff, rob? Can you say "delusions of grandeur"?

My (rhetorical) question has been answered. You can't point to a post where you've "help[ed] someone" (sic).

Orders? Nahh... just letting 'em know that as far as the one's that can answer the questions knowledgeably are concerned... the question's been answered.

Of course I can't speak for the ones like you. :)

As far as posts where I've helped... I know where they are, they know, and I'd be hard pressed to care whether you do.
Face it, you're not part of that equation.

I see. You're "finished" with this thread so it can be closed. How classicly narcissistic. :)

As I said, the question was rhetorical. No need to decline to answer.

Wow, you figured out I'm a narcissist? LOL. I'm from Texas, junior, of course I am.

[Some folks call us that cause it's more fun than just admitting we're vastly superior.] :D

btw - You DO realize that given the number of posts you've got in here and the 5 or 6 anti dmoz blogs you've done on your "professional" (rofl) website would qualify you for an intervention by your colleagues IF they took you the least bit seriously.

[Yeah... I suspect that means there won't be one.]
    ;)

Better watch out, metas might think your showing favoritism towards me and start checking your editing logs and first time you accidentally list some nice website which I happen to submit you could get removed. ;)

Things DMOZ editors will do to avoid editing... :p :D

Don't try to blame it on Texas. I know people from your state who are neither personality disordered nor trolls.

Thanks for confirming the diagnosis.

Hey, my presence can be explained in terms that don't involve the stuff that keeps quacks... er... seasoned professionals like minstrel employed. How 'bout you? Explain your presence in a Dmoz forum. :)

[Dang, I called minstrel a professional... lol... I really AM having delusions.]:D
