    Here's another question

if i see a refferal from a back end dmoz application it means an editor was reviewing the site, is that right?

and if so, woul it have been approved right then and there, if so how long would it take to show in the directory if i type in the url

trying to judge if i should resubmit

I would recommend not to resubmit. Your website could have been approved or rejected or maybe still pending review. Search at dmoz.org for your domain.com !!If it lists you, you are in. If not, I would recommend waiting. Resubmit does not help. It hurts at dmoz.

Wait about a week from the time you see the DMOZ hit to when you determine your site wasn't approved. The public servers lag behind the editors servers for a few days. First, your site gets listed in the search results after a couple days... then a few days later it gets in the directory.

well if you've done nothing in terms of submissions and SEO in those two years, dmoz isn't going to make a huge difference :D :p

It is the other way around.
If a site is listed the follwing will happen
    1) it is listed on the editor servers
    2) public servers: normaly are a few days later
    3) dmoz search: normaly within 1 or 2 weeks
    4) other sites using DMOZ data: we don't know

www.dmoz.com - would be the public server to check (but not using the search feature - since that wouldn't update for a week or so).

Not in my case, and I've had two sites listed in the last 2 months.

    1. editor server
    2. public server search results 3 days later
    3. public server actually in the directory 2 days after it showed in search
    4. google directory - few weeks

They both went just like that. I know, I checked them multiple times per day in anticipation.
