Did you tried submitting your website in Dmoz? It says "Service Temporarily Unavailable" since long time.
Any one have an idea on when this will be set right.

For almost 2 month, submission is not working, and nobody knows when it will be working.

Tells us that a Dmoz editor has said that the project will be back up soon. Is that all you wanted to know? :)

    1. No, it tells us that some guy in an instant message claimed that. I don't see anything there to verify that he's an editor. He may be a bot or complete fiction.

    2. Several DP members who we know to be editors have stated similar OPINIONS repeatedly while others have expressed some doubt or confusion. Your reference to that post really adds nothing at all.

    Perfect Answer..

Just think of it this way - whenever you try to submit any link in dmoz it asks you to come back after 1-2 days.. this has been since past n-number of days (I dont know the specific date for that).
This shows that even DMOZ ppl dont know when they will come back live agin...

That proves nothing. For years when you submit a link you are told it will be reviewed in 1-2 weeks, or is it 1-2 months? I don't recall.

Simply do the DMOZ time conversion math, and there's your proof. There is no problem, you only think it's taking longer than 1-2 days. ;)

I'm hoping dmoz will get their problems corrected and will be fully functioning again soon.

I'm willing to bet that the unreviewed pool of submissions is/was lost and I'll now have a better chance of getting my sites reviewed when I resubmit them.

I think this is going to turn out to be a blessing in disguise for webmasters.

    Why?

I think it will be a blessing to webmasters if it never comes back.

I don't know. Ask google. Search has been broke since October 2005 with no signs of ever being properly fixed.

Is that a "question" asked or a "rhetoric question". I know your intentions to start a DMOZ like site.. so looks like you are happy with the death of DMOZ
