For folks with sites listed in DMOZ, do you get traffic from your DMOZ link? It so big I wonder if anyone uses it, except for site owners of course.
I've gotten traffic from it indirectly (From Alexa). The only traffic I've ever noticed from Dmoz itself though has been from editors.dmoz.org (which would be editors (and not me, so I can only image which ones keep looking at my site). Either way though, I've never gotten enough traffic from there (or any directory that I've noticed) that was worthy of really being mentioned.
I get a few clicks here or there....I guess being DMOZ listed is more helpful for your PR than anything...
DMOZ is not for Webmasters, mainly because our sites are not listed when we submit them, and we use Google to find new/related sites anyways. It's really not for the end user either, as most of them use Google (or some other SE) and most end users have never even heard of a directory. That leaves Editors....and as many of them have mental disorders (trust me, I know, I was one ) maybe your traffic was simply honest traffic looking for help?
Those few visitors are most probably result of the fact that I've replaced bunch of links at Wikipedia with single link to DMOZ category, lets just say that wasn't smartest thing to do since so few people visit DMOZ even when linked from Wikipedia that increase from DMOZ traffic was none and drop in Wikipedia traffic very obvious...
Listed, and no traffic, however, I have been picked up and submitted to other directories (internationally) since then, so It is worth it to me.
