I think the time for selection is very random - you need to submit and forget about it

I am sure that if you submit to a section where editors actualy review sites wont take longer than 2 months.
I have check it out at my european directory wich in some countries (spain or italy) sites are being accept but in Greece will take for ever :)

I don't know if many directories have been approved over the last couple of years. There are just too many of them.

In probably enough time for your great great grand children to get listed. That is assuming you have given them the submitted Website in your will and it has not changed themes. :)

    Seriously, it can take years....

I'm not sure about it. One should submit his/her site once and forgot that for some months at least.. Should not try submitting the same website more often

This has been discussed many times, just submit on to DMOZ and forget about it. One fine day it will be accepted or rejected.

Acceptance in dmoz solely depends on editors of dmoz.

I have never had issues with DMOZ. The idea is to list good, aged, sites with a userbase. I have 3 sites that are DMOZ listed.
