The real trick to getting listed in DMOZ is to find your category editor's paypal email address. After that it's pretty easy to get listed.
I'm not sure if DMOZ is dead or not, but one thing I do know if that Google mentions it in their own tips to rank better. Type in google: "google guidelines directory" Then go to the first search result (which is the Webmaster Guidelines) Then read last bullet where it says: "When your site is ready"
You've already mentioned DMOZ...so it's only a matter of time before their editors are slithering all over this thread. Without mentioning your site, your going to get the same old answer. There will, however, be an obvious reason why you're not getting listed, but I would suggest 'submit once, forget forever' - submitting several times means you go to the bottom of the list over and over again
DMOZ really dont care about pending listings..I have also submitted my blog 3-4 times in last 1 year. but all in vain. --Ashish
My friend is editor in dmoz. Doing lot of spamming there and many times those sites are deleted by other editors.
I'm glad you asked that question, kloop. Your answer is right here: http://www.sitepoint.com/forums/showthread.php?t=182915#Section55 and here: http://www.sitepoint.com/forums/showthread.php?t=182915#Section40
No problem. Read the entire FAQ there when you get a chance - you'll learn a lot more about SEO than you ever thought possible.
Hi there, It is true. once you submit and after long time also it is not getting accepted. What i find is there is an option. which is 'Link to us' option. i think linking with dmoz may submission gets accepted faster and google page rank also will increase. this is my assumption. Thnks
It's not needed, that your site should be listed in DMOZ. Find other alternative to rank better. only one link from dmoz can't help you.
