I dont really have an idea about Dmoz but why not try something else?
I mean try to venture something that will approve your registration fast.

Had you thought of reading the excellent sticky thread at the top of this forum?

No one can guarantee about how much time it will take to get listed in DMOZ.

Dmoz approved sites in 2 to 3 weeks maximum but if it's not approved during this time it's should be rejected that your submission is not approved in dmoz.

Did you bother to read who Jim Noble was in his signature? He is one of DMOZ's most senior Meta editors. He clearly said there was no deadline. It can take from a few days to a few years for a review for a possible listing to take place. To suggest that a site has been rejected if not listed in a few weeks would be laughable if it were not so wrong. Please stop saying things that you do not know about it does not help anyone wanting correct information.

Getting approval in Dmoz is very tough. because these are the sites which are directly linked to Google and other major search engine .you can try other directory sites having high PR. Some of them will definitely give you backlink with in a week.

Just to put this piece of information straight. Google use DMOZ material out of choice, that is all. DMOZ has no other link or any influence over what Google do or do not do neither has Google any influence or any other link with DMOZ.

Mine is processed around 4 months. If you use your native language directory submission (besides English), it would take longer I think..
