You have no proof that they were not paid listings or editor sites, or for that matter if they were good. Even if these were your own sites, using the same standards that the editors demand for proof, you can not show us any different.

Unique content they say is a MUST (see the post before yours) but then look at the Topix listings, over TEN THOUSAND... and do those DEEP LINKS have unique cotnent? NO... they are syndicated! Are the sites they are pulling their information from listed in the same categories? Not always...

So Unique content is NOT a true consideration, at least if it is, it takes a slot lower then being an editor site!

Read the stickie but from a few days to a few years, no one can predict and you can do nothing more to promote your site at DMOZ.

As MANY editors do not bother with the suggested sites, one of the BEST methods of promoting a site to DMOZ is to promote it everywhere BUT dmoz.

Page rank is of no importance to us at all, I have never checked any sites page rank and I have listed 20,000 sites in DMOZ. Read the stickie at the top it will tell you that it can take from a few days to a few years to get a review for a possible listing.

After submitting my currate site to DMOZ few times for many months, my http://currate.com/map.php (Google World Currencies Map with Currency Images) is now on DMOZ.

After reading many comments here, it looks like it's up to DMOZ editor who decided to add that currate/map.php site (which I did not submit that link). Also I know there are many dead links in DMOZ directory which has not been removed at all due to the lack of specific category editor who will take the responsibility to update their DMOZ category.

    Strange, isn't it?

If you know of any dead links, please report them with the update button on every site. Up dates are dealt with faster than anything else and currently we have very few on the whole of the directory.

We do have bots to find the dead links, but some of the people who use dead links have very devious ways of hiding that. The users of the directory help by being our eyes where we do not see and we thank you for your co-operation.

I have approved over 30,000 sites and have looked at PR in EVERY instance! See how easy it is to say that you've done something without backing it up? As far as ANYONE can tell here, you are not and have never been an editor. Your proof of being an editor is right up there with Gworlds!

Yes, like CNN hiding all those custom 404 pages in the archives that I had to complain about for weeks on end before ANYONE would bother to look. Those darned CNN people can't trust their deceitful selves! It would be a better world if we were all as trustable as the ODP

Read over the DMOZ submission guidelines
    Find a REGIONAL
Read the description of that category
Use your sites OFFICIAL TITLE OR BUSINESS NAME
Find an appropriate general, non-regional category

Wait or Forget. Your choice. Either way, make sure you continue working on your site.

I already did it as the goodwill gesture several months ago after I submitted my http://currate.com web site several times. I'll be happy to do it again once in a while.

I don't know that it will get your site reviewed any faster, but we are grateful when people take the trouble to tell us if they spot things that need attention, thanks for your help.

I'm pretty sure that all that matters is actually relevance to the category. Try it yourself ;)
