With the recent reopening of DMOZ I am curious if anyone has been added.

If you have please post your DMOZ link in here along with the approximate wait time you endured.

I've submitted several sites and am looking for some indication of turnaround time since reopening between submits and adds.

I submitted a site in may 2005, it was approved in 2 weeks. All other sites I have submitted since then I'm still waiting for.

Also remember that now on top of their usual excuses they have a real backlog

Let's just say that I think the concept is seriously outdated; the structure seriously flawed and top-heavy; the managers seriously resistant to change and desperately holding on to the status quo; and a majority (not that I did NOT say all - there are several I actually admire) of the editors pathetically holding on to the perceived status the title gives them by lashing out against all criticism or suggestions for improvement. The result is an antiquated and cumbersome machine that is slowly and surely grinding itself up into small unrecognizable pieces.

But that doesn't mean I dislike DMOZ, does it? :)

In a sense I hope it does eventually crash and burn just so they learn a lesson! (I hope that doesnt sound to evil or anything)

This is just plain silly. If DMOZ is allowed to crash and burn what makes you think that those who could have prevented it would have enough sense to actually learn anything from it?

Not really crash and burn but slowly drift into irrelevance.

Well that may or may not happen, it remains to be seen. Regardless, I don't think anyone will learn anything from it.

BTW, I'm rooting for it to bounce back. ;)

Disappointed! Looks like no webmaster gets his website indexed by DMOZ,

That's rather a logical leap of faith isn't it? Didn't you mean this?
Many editors have been adding websites to the directory for the last month.

No Ivan, that isn't a problem at all, you personally have no control over where we work whether or not you post at RZ.

And anyone who thinks the clock starts when they make a submission is seriously overestimating the importance of their website. My clock has been working since before the Internet even existed.

That's pretty remarkable these days. May I ask where you purchased it? Was it WalMart?

I have clocks pre-dating Walmart even.

My oldest clock is an antique Illinois pocket watch that I inherited from my grandpa. A French-Canadian, btw. All it needs is a simple wind every now and then and it's good to go.

Then there's the WW2 era anniversary clock brought back from Germany by my Uncle. You simply wind it with a key once a year and it keeps perfect time.

Oh, and this is really cool. I have a clock from an old Packard automobile too.

No Internet, no Walmart. Tic toc. :)

(I don't go to Walmart, they have bad air.)

Well, I'm certainly surprised to hear that! Especially since I've been accused of listing sites as special favors for DP members by a pretty prominent meta over there. It's all so ridiculous I don't know whether to turn corrupt, throw my computer through a window or just resign from dmoz. So I do nothing as I contemplate my own fate. If I disappear from these forums, you'll know I chose the window option. ;)

Maybe DP members should go to RZ for help understanding their listing problems, seems this forum is no longer needed. Better service over there, you only get talk here.

Everyone has sense, so they would learn that you have to change with the times in order to keep growing and developing. They wouldnt just let it die and say 'oh well, never mind, maybe next time'. Of course they would learn.

I just hope they have enough sense to change it before everyone hates it (because many people do seem to these days). I think its more the fact that it was so big and still has the opportunity to be so good - thats what annoys people, not the actual website. It is a blatant waste of obvious potential.

I guess Im not critiscing anyone connected with the site apart from those in charge of developing the website - because it doesnt seemed to have moved forward in a loooong time.....

    Regards, Chris. :)

Looks like you are representing all of us. Isn't it logical to say that none of your sites are indexed?
