omg...someone really does use DMOZ DemonMaster, did you ever use DMOZ to click through to your own site? If not, it was an editor, or *gasp* an actual user.
It was likely an editor checking it out... As for getting listed that fast, yes it can happen. As for getting your site listed that fast, I don't know the site, and I don't know the category. Are you listed? If the answer is YES, then heh, the answer is Yes, its that fast!
i just checked and not listed category is: Games/Video_Games/Console_Platforms/Sony/PlayStation_Portable/ and the site is: http://www.psprips.com/ did they email u about getting listed
A log record showing a dmoz visit really means nothing and least of all that someone reviewed and listed the site. All the log means is that someone clicked on your link from a dmoz link (or as martty says a spoofed dmoz link) and nothing more. It could have been an automated link checker, it could have been an editor checking links, it could have been someone playing tricks, and it could have been a review taking place. There could also be any number of other reasons so speculating on whether it was listed or even reviewed is pointless. If it was listed you will see it publically in a day or two. DMOZ does not send automated messages about site reviews, and normally editors won't either so it is very, very rare that anyone would receive an email about their site.
I'd guess it was an editor. I'd also guess that it was rejected...or at least I'd likely have rejected it. You need more members & more posts, as a forum's 'content' is based on such things. Add your site to your sig, and hit up the others forums listed in your category (for some tips on that read THIS) and for the sites listed that are not forums, send the webmasters offers for reciprocal linking, or ask them to become members, though becareful with that, as many will take such a request as a solicitation (and therefor spam). Promote your site, get some more posts, and maybe re-submit in a few months...
o ok i see what your saying 1 more thing i check my stats again and it now says 5 different refering search engines Pages Percent Hits Percent DMOZ 9 28.1 % 9 17.3 % thank you for the tips i will definitely do that
It is called forum effect, when I mention some of my websites in DMOZ contexts I get bunch of hits from DMOZ since bunch of editors check it in DMOZ database and visit it. This is basically all the traffic you'll ever get from DMOZ.
