I have a website I would like to submit to DMOZ but the page is a NA... "If" the site was accepted would it see any kind of a bump in SERPS? Are these categories that have NA worth trying to get listed on?

I am an editor , and I don't mind saying : it is NOT a resource for great websites , great being the keyword .
It is a resource for unique content , which can include sites with popups , sites often depicting morally wrong subjects - even being a disadvantageous situation , DMOZ is still an great example of unbiased and integrity based editing.
To confuse you even more ;) , it is not a resource for great websites, but a great resource for websites on ANY DAMNED subject.

Hi Websys, nice to meet an DMOZ editor here at DP.

Volunteers look in all sorts of places for sites with enough unique content to add value to a category and be useful to the average web surfer.

More detail can be found here: Site Selection Criteria.

It only takes a few minutes for an editor to find a worthwhile site, review it, write a suitable title and description, and list it. :)

However, if you are asking how long it takes for an editor to review a specific site which has been suggested for review, the answer is "Nobody knows". Volunteers are encouraged to find sites wherever they like, and the ones suggested by other people are no more than one resource they can use if they choose.
Remember: DMOZ is not a free listing service, and looking at suggested sites is not even a priority, let alone a requirement for editors. It will happen when someone feels like doing it. That's all.
