    Hi everyone,
Does DMOZ asking you to exchage links with it, when your website got excepted? if yes, than it's just links exchange website. but if they don't ask you to exchange links, then it's means, that it is one way links.

    Any one on this?

    thanks

If you are asking "Does DMOZ require a listed site to put a link on their site back to DMOZ?" - then the answer is a resounding - NO!

No reciprocal link is required, however, purchase of an0n's t-shirt is MANDATORY with each accepted listing:

The only time when DMOZ requires a link or 600,000 is when you take the data to clone it into your own directory.

Brizzie is correct, no recriprocal link is expected when your site is listed. Helleborine is also correct, you must purchase anon's t-shrit (if you want to be cool) ;)

Seriously an0n, you HAVE to make those t-shirts available! I'll buy one in a heartbeat. Couldn't you use cafepress or something? :)

No - but then I haven't tried adding a site since the server broke on October 20th. :D

Okay - I'll be serious now: The directory is currently experiencing technical difficulties, please stay tuned for an announcement (at a later point in time) that the difficulties have been corrected. At that point, you should have no problem suggesting your site.

Yippee! The Admins have resigned? Adult branch and online gambling sites removed? Minors prevented from obtaining automatic rights to edit porn sites? Compliance with COPPA? Guidelines brought up to date? All those affiliate travel agency sites gone? No wonder it is taking so long. :D

Yo man, no-one says "golly" anymore. In any accent. I would be jumping for bloody joy if those were the difficulties being fixed. I am an optimist, which means frequent disappointment, but then life's a beach and then you fry.

Anyway, I'm thinking of giving up the DMOZ struggle and concentrating on my new project, "Cheesemakers of the World Unite", motto, "Remember folks, there is no F in whey"

Don't be too happy. It can get worse and they can replace the admins with lmocr. :D

There are a few candidates I would support and lmocr is one of those. :) I really don't understand what lmocr has done to earn your scorn, she's a lovely person and a great editor. I am sure she would listen to advice and act in an honest and principled manner. The problem for any replacement for the Admins, however, is that there are clearly some things they cannot control or influence, so I doubt lmocr would accept the job if offered.

Do you remember that earlier today, I wrote: "At least someone has a brain." in response to one of your postings? In the light of your latest posting, I take it back. :D

if DMOZ is one way link, then what is the point of DMOZ? and then eveyone can put eveyones site and created his own one way links directory.

so, i will go and create my own dmoz with the highest PR sites.

    thats is stupid idea: DMOZ

Plenty have tried, see skaffe, jayde etc. Plus the plethora of niche directories which are independantly owned. We'll be watching Solicitations and Announcements for your directory launch!
