are DMOZ listing any good? I mead do you get good traffic? How much are listed domains/sites worth? Can someone help me out.
Does that 50 include all the off-shoot sites, like the Alexa directory, the Google Directory, and anything else that uses the ODP? If it was just DMOZ, then I'd say all the hype was over nothing, but from where I stand, it's deeper then that, as for how deep, I've no real way of knowing, my site isn't listed yet Q
50 are from DMOZ alone, all other barely give 1 or 2 a month and this is with boost of linking DMOZ category from Wikipedia! I have grand total of 11 deeplinks to my little 2000 pages multilanguage website (TM) in DMOZ so yes it is hype over nothing (unless possible if you have viagra website, then many editors are potential customers).
Whether its good or not is irrelevant really. Its free to submit so just submit and forget about it. If I was buying a very low value site then a DMOZ link would maybe increase its value but not by much.
how long does it take to get there? I have been posting for the last 6 minths and I am thinking of giving up. Should I?
Yes, DMOZ listings are very helpful. The traffic they bring depends on what section you are listed in. A DMOZ-listed site is not necessarily worth any more or less than a non-DMOZ-listed site. Hope that info helps!
Hay thanks a lot guys, this really helps, I was thinking of investing on some expired dmoz listed domains, I have dropped the idea after what you guys ahve mentioned, thanks a lot, this has been very helpful
