Is there a timeframe that it takes to successfully get listed on DMOZ, if Yes, then what is the average time?
It can take a few days or it can take forever(literally). Don't get your hopes up about being listed in DMOZ.
If your site is good it should be listed within minutes of an active editor seeing it, the question is how long will it be before an editor actually looks at it. Check the date of last update at the bottom of the category page and that will give you a clue or use my DMOZ active editor tool to see where editors have recently been.
Sounds like they kinda take their time... Thanks for the editor..do people normally see good results with it?
I am a DMOZ editor. The tool is likely to cause your site to take longer to be reviewed if it persuades you to post to the wrong category. Because it will wait in a queue and then be sent to the category it should have been sent to in the first place. Also if the category you chose, just because it seems active, is active because there is a long list of submissions, you could wait in the wrong queue for years. Activitiey is not by any manner of means a guarantee that your site will come to the top soon, much less if it is the wrong category that it will be listed. Believe me, send it to the right category, then forget it. It can take hours can take years. There is nothing you can do to speed it up. Just to add, remember all the editors, but for a handful of staff are volunteers, do this in their spare time and get no financial reward, whatever some people try and tell you on here.
If you want to get your site listed quicker, you should edit your category. Make sure to treat all sites fairly and make sure other editors ok the inclusion of your site. That is probably the fastest way in.
