That world wide web is not supposed to be there...thats not who the cater too That said, it's saying it wont load Timed out... The server at dmoz.org is taking too long to respond. It then gives me a few reasons as to why...my money is on it being too busy *smirk* I tried back and it loaded...so I guess it's just a bit patchy. We all have our bad days I guess. EDIT: Hehe...and it's down again.
Maybe it's being extracted from your cache, skunky. It's not loading for me. Oh please let this be a permanent condition. What good riddance it would be.
I think you are right, I just went back and checked - nothing on the public side - the editor side is working, though http://editors.dmoz.org/
No, it's not down. It's just the next step in their new security measures, trying to plug leaks from their inner forums. They are now blocking everyone except admins and metas.
It's going to be down for eternity, as I am in control with my special lizard voodoo doll. People can now stop wasting their time "editing" it,"editors" can stop polluting the Wikipedia with desperate links to DMOZ categories, we can stop wasting our time making webmasters realize that even submitting your site is a waste of time, AOL can stop wasting its time with maintaning it on a lame server, etc. It's a win-win situation. But seriously, I think that AOL has is trying to send a message that they want to kill it slowly. It's on purpose.
I find humor in that... In their quest to cover up things that should never be hidden, they are killing themselves. The scars from them being down at the beginning of the year are still not healed and now they have effectively turned the place OFF...hurting the many to protect the few. ROCK ON ODP!
Ok Feel Free to Stumble upon Or Digg IT Or Reddit, So that atleast AOL knows that DMOZ is offline lol.
