Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. ;)

There are no DMOZ rules but since I created some of them that would really be violation of Temporal prime directive. :D

We've lost the editing history so for some sites that I've checked and are missing - I can't tell if an editor killed them before the crash, or if it's the backup.

Yes, editors are there to do a lot of things, and delisting bad sites is one of them. If you see sites that shouldn't be listed, you have a choice... you can do nothing (which most people do), you can come on here and bitch about how the ODP just contains irrelevant sites (which some do), or you can help to be part of the solution by directing editors to examine those sites.

Automated tools can only do so much which (for its flaws) is why the ODP was started - the old "humans do it better" thing. There are a lot of sites, and tend to be a lot of new suggestions to sift through. Drawing attention to things that are wrong in a constructive way lets you do your bit to help the ODP...

So any help you can give in this matter (as have been shown in several forums) is gratefully received.

But I for one understand that not everyone wants to do that, for whatever reason, and that is your personal choice.

Thats the problem how are you supposed to contact an editor to get some site examined if there was a way would users not contact them to look at their site for getting listed?

And when those irrelevant and illegal sites are owned by "senior" editors then nothing happens independent of how many times people point out those sites, right? ;)

If you spam an editor for the purpose of getting your own site listed that definately won't turn out well for your best interests. However there are many avenues for you to do exactly what alucard suggested without contacting an editor. You could start by posting the list here or use this thread over at Resource-zone for that very purpose. Editors will see both and can process updates from either.

Or a Meta in RZ can use your list to cover up the tracks and while removing the sites that you mention, add a new ones instead. ;)

So now, perhaps DMOZ Admins would care to review their stance on risk management as being something for fools. The offer of professional advice has been on the table for most of 2006.

Or if you don't want to post a list of defective sites, you can post that you have a list and one of us will contact you for it and let you know when we've finished working on it.

How can we be a part of the solution when MOST of you are the problem itself. Nobody can't do anything. Let's get real. I myself have given up helping, when you come to think of it I will be the GREATEST adult pornography supporter which I am not. When you support those kinds of sites then helping you would be.......... ? Don't BS me anymore. NOBODY in your RANKS can do anything.

Sure. DMOZ/Adult/ Let your children see those (if you have) and let them tell you what they feel about their father volunteering for a hobby like that. Humans do it Better Don't BS me with this.

What ? I post in RZ and in less than a minute my posting gets deleted. Don't LIE to me with this.

Yes, I am NOT anymore and that is my CHOICE. I don't want to be a COLLABORATOR for the Supreme Liars and Arrogant people in the Web. (Most not all) NO PORN. NO ADULT. NO BS PLEASE. When you have the authority to remove those sites. A lot of people would be GRATEFUL to you.

Depends on the type of porn. When you make a positive decision to list "teen" sites you are deliberately pushing the limits and it is a high risk someone will cross the line. That is a line that beats a ciggie, a drink, and a spliff every time for wrongness.
