I've submitted my site and never heard back, I don't think there's actually anyone editing the category I put it in.

That's correct, and you never will get any response about the status of your suggestion. When it gets reviewed it will either be added, moved to another category, or rejected, but you won't get a notification about it.

Perhaps we'll get some kind of automated software in the future to do that, but we don't have it yet.

What about the other tens of thousands of site suggestions that are patiently waiting to be reviewed, FREE BET? Do you feel you should be placed in front of them?

No, there is no way to jump in front of everyone else.

Did you offer your site in the last 12 months? I ask that because some sites do, sadly, wait that long and more, shortages of editors and some, like me, getting old and lazy:D, but 12 months ago we had a crash and lost all the sites submitted for review. So if it was in 2006 then please do submit again, but fraid you will just have to wait if it was 2007 and as crowbar says we don't advise if we don't list.

Editors can be a bit coy about commenting on sites people post here, but there are many experienced posters on here that will comment if the site is listable and if it is likely to be sat in a Q, so it might help you if you list your site and the category you submitted to.

    Edit to add
You could try applying to be an editor of the category you would like to be in, but we advise small categories to start with. If you are interested crowbar has posted a succinct summary that might help you, if you indicated interest perhaps he could dig it up. And don't ask about pay, I just got mine doubled but double nothing is still.....
