Apparently google uses dmoz for a lot of it's data. does anybody know how long (roughly) it takes for new dmoz content to be indexed by google?

I imagine Dmoz gets spidered often and quickly by Google with it's High PR.

It's not done by spidering, it uses RDF files - see Open Directory RDF Dump

    The complete answer is:
Google uses DMOZ data in 2 ways
    1) To build its own directory. This is done throught the DMOZ's rdf files. It is unknown when Google will update their directory but normaly it is done several times a year.
    2) Google spiders DMOZ just like it does any other site to index the new content and to find links to other sites for its search engine.
