I have been designing web sites for a few years now, although you might not know it to look at my sites. heheh I have two blogs and a semi-commercial sort-of site, for a grand total of 3 lousy web sites. My question has to do with DMOZ, Google and Yahoo. As I understand it, you can submit your sites to these directories for free, which is of course my preference. But, when you think about it, what incentive do these directories have to list your web sites for free? I want to market these sites, and the only way I know of to do it is to get them listed it major search engines and directories. The trouble is that so far Google and DMOZ have blow me, and hundreds of thousands of others, off. Is the only way to get these directories to add my sites spelled "cash"? What has been the experience of people in this forum?
