Does anyone knows some proper way how can we apply for dmoz editor post.
Means if some standard answer sets.

Also mention who is the incharge over there who rejects your applications.

    Do editors reject new applications???

Or is there god somewhere in DMOZ who rejeccts all this application.

There are no tricks or made recipies. Just submit your application to a small category if you are a newbie there :)

I dunno if there is a god somewhere in DMOZ who rejects all applications. All I know is I got accepted the first time I applied. All I did was follow the instructions DMOZ posted "to the letter". Not only to the letter, but to the punction and detail.

First of all, I spell checked my submission. Yeah, it meant cutting and pasting everythign I typed into microsoft word and hitting spell check. And yes, it found my typos such as the ones in this paragraph. They are big on that. They are VERY big on that. They are ENORMOUSLY HUGELY BIG on that. A single typo or punction error is pretty much guarenteed to get you rejected. Your application is your interview. You mess up the spelling, punctuation and grammer on it and you are likely to mess it up on your listing, and they don't want anyone who will do that.

Next I picked a category without much activity. It had 6 sites. It has 10 now. It is a LOW volume category.

Then I did as they asked and picked a login name that is a natural pertubation of my real name. No, I did not pick ziandra. I picked the login name they gave me at work which is my first initial + last name. They like that "honesty and lack of fear" thing.

Finally, I declared EVERY site I owned and contributed to. I included digital point ;) I declared affiliation with the site in the queue that I was going to (and did) approve shortly after being accepted. Funny thing is I did edit the description I submitted earlier to be compliant with DMOZ guidelines once I was an editor.

Though, I really must emphasize. My sites and my category are in the non-combative, non-confrontational, non-competitive "games" tree. I believe what I have read that trying to become an editor in "travel" or "computers" without being "in" is so close to impossible that it isn't worth trying. All the editors I have dealt with just wanted to make the directory "better". Rumor has it that this is not true for all categories..

As always... your milage may vary.

    @ziandra:

You took it seriously, did it right and got the result you wanted. Well done :).

There are several show stoppers, but that isn't one of them. Too many such errors is.

(The one that always makes me smile is I am a proffesional...)

Yeah i know all this stuff. I also have applied for atleast 3 times. This time It took me 4 hours to do research and then fill in the application. Now there is no reply. No rejection mail. Nothing. I am not waiting for rejecction mail I want to pass it this time. But if i can get the update then surely i would like to do something again.
If i am rejected then i am applying again with 40 hours of research. Else i will edit the category for which I am chosen. :D

Well, let's just say that I'm not a big fan of DMOZ to begin with. Based on your posts, the idea of you being an editor wouldn't inspire me to change my mind about the directory

How can I put this tactfully?

It's not that I worry you would abuse your power. It's that, judging from your other posts, I have no confidence that you'll make good decisions.

Now that I see that statement in black and white, perhaps you'd fit right in at DMOZ...
