    Hello,

Hmm...probably wrong - this can be our Quality Checking tool.

Look at the date showing under the search - this is the last update of the seaching base. It will be better to check if your site is listed directly from the category you suggested in.

    No one knows :)
Most common reason often is "still untouched by editor"

Hope that this helps. Doing this suggestion is all you can do, and what you need is patience :)

    Regards

Can you tell us how many people in India have jobs, and how productive they are each day? Or are they all sleeping?

I think it would be none of my business, as none of them are accountable to me, :). Neither are editors accountable to submitters.

overclock, to try to answer your questions, without trying to be funny, exact numbers about how many sites are added, how many removed (due to being dead), or how many active editors there are, well, they're just not available, either publicly or internally withint the ODP.

Most acknowledge that there are several thousand "active" editors - i.e. ones that have made at least one edit in the past few weeks, that work in nearly 600,000 categories.

I can promise you that they are not *all* asleep. Editors do a lot of other work than reviewing suggested URLs as well (see other threads on this and other fora for some examples)

I would encourage the DP members to take a look at the site, especially those that used to be editors, and give your opinions on whether the site mentioned would be one that YOU would approve for the directory, if you were an editor. Maybe this is a way that DP can truly help website owners get some unofficial feedback on sites. Just a thought.....

As I check from statcounter, they provides visitor's IP stat and referal url that can trackback, that page is required dmoz editor authentication.
maybe I wait and then wait

th200se, I would advise you *not* to wait. Waiting implies that you are stopping what you are doing, until you get some sort of outcome. I'd like to suggest that this isn't a good use of your time.

By suggesting your site to the ODP you have done all that you can do. getting a "peer review" might help you get some idea, as I suggested above. Otherwise I would really suggest that you stop waiting. You will see many, many threads on here that advise you to "submit and forget".

(Updated, now seeing the cat) The category branch you have submitted to has a ridiculously large ratio of submissions to interested volunteer editors. "Waiting" is going to be totally futile, I'm afraid.

There are automated quality control tools that may visit a site, and editors will sometimes just check sites for proper category placement, and either confirm that they belong in that category, or move them to a more appropriate category.

When editors are doing this type of task, that's all they'll do because it's a big job in itself, and won't necessarily do reviews on them. The reason for doing it is to move sites to the lower categories where most editors actually edit. Those editors can't reach the sites in higher categories, so we move them down where they belong.

Thank you for your helpful post:rolleyes:, listing in DMOZ is just one out of most of ways to get more PR and better SERP position, and then get more traffic from to website.
Hopfully I need 1 more PR from getting lists in DMOZ.

I really don't know before about, let say DMOZ bot right? If it true, DMOZ is not 100% human review directory, no human review anymore while tool/bot did mistake.

th200se, a human editor will review nearly all sites that make it into the directory (and the cases where that hasn't happened are extremely rare). There are automated tools that will pre-scan suggestions, looking for known scammers, duplicates, etc. This was done in an attempt to make the editors more effective, and not have to spend hours weeding through known garbage.
