I'm not a editor, but I did apply and we too got rejected. However, every website online wants to be listed in the ODP. With over 300,000,000 people living in the US alone, I'm pretty sure if you multiply that by the rest of the world, that's a huge number of websites. They are very selective on who they allow to help them, but I must say we did receive a response within a couple of days on why we were not selected to become an editor, so I know that they are working.
Its amazing how selective they are with who they let in, yet the quality of what they list at times has a LOT to be desired.
Use of the we word deserves comment (unless you're the Queen of England of course, in which case "Sorry Marm"). We do not offer or permit corporate or shared editor accounts. Editors are individual hobbyists .
I'll be old and gray by the time my legit sites are approved. Best not to sweat it really, build your links, nurture relationships with other webmasters. There are plenty of other opportunities for powerful links so submit to dmoz and move on.
Absolutely, the links you get from fellow webmasters, or within your own network of sites are worth gold, whereas dmoz listings get you no extra juice, and no visitors at all.
Thanks all for your advises. It help me. I have registered in Dmoz. Here is dmoz page http://dmoz.org/Regional/Asia/Armenia/Education and my site url http://lekpedia.com
