 Okay then, where do I report it to google, that as a google user I am utterly dismayed by the quality of service that dmoz provides & that google promotes?

I know it probably won't do any good but just wanted it record. If enough of us complain they might eventually do something about it i.e stop using the pile of crap as some sort of indication as to whether website A is more worthy than website B. It's pathetic.

So who owns DMOZ then and who hosts it?

And why does something as powerful as google, still rely on it?

    Google doesn't "rely" on DMOZ.

In truth, absolutely nothing "relies" on DMOZ, except some of the editors and admins who would not have a life at all if DMOZ ceased to exist.

...and a few dozen members of this and other forums whom wouldn't have anything to complain about otherwise. :D

I also think that the ODP kind of relies on DMOZ (or is that the other way around?)

Though, I do wonder what we'd all complain about if DMOZ really was dead.

There is always wikipedia and how it rips off content and then steals your top spot at Google with your content. ;)

Just doing my part to state the obvious  :)

I do think that they need higher standards for the inclusion of porn though what they currently have listed is a bunch of filth. If those types of pages were submitted to any other category they would not be listed at all...and not just because they are porn.

I think that's called an "oxymoron".

But I do agree with the remainder of your comments.
