With a loss of 48 billion $ in 2007, the online industry is actively searching for a solution for the online piracy problem. Anyone who owns, exploits and administers copyrights, trademarks and brands is especially aware of the threat to the value of these assets posed by the web. The problem is not getting any better and you need a solution that will work for you.

What can we do for you?

We can start with acknowlediging your problem. The online industry loses money because your material is freely available on the net. So why would you pay for it?
By removing every single download link for your material, people will be forced to buy your product, for the simple reason they won’t find illegal download link for your material

So how do you actually enforce the removal?

I'm curious how it works too. Many sites with links to pirated content are hosted in countries that don't have strong copyright protection laws. And content can be reuploaded as quickly as it's taken down. I'm skeptical that a new company can do what the armies of lawyers working for the RIAA, MPAA, Time-Warner, Universal Music, Disney, etc. cannot.

Also, merely changing your website to not include download links isn't going to solve the problem (not that it won't help). Content scrapers can, in some instances, take everything from your site, from the copy on your landing page to your menu buttons. Nonny, I join you in your skepticism. I'd like to see some more information about how it works.

I would like to say that your idea about removing every illegal download link is useless.

Take Rapidshare for example. If i was to upload a pirated movie onto their server and then post those links onto a warez forum, i will get told by moderators when my links become dead (as well as the introduction of automatic link checking that instantly alerts me to my links becoming offline).
I would then simply re-up them. Its completley un-enforceable and even if you do have some links removed, it wont make the slightest impact.

I think that once you release content, you really lose control over it. The nature of the Internet and modern technology makes protecting your exclusive rights over information very difficult.

If you have the time and money you could do things like contract infringers / notify Google / have a lawyer send a cease-and-desist letter/ or take people to court.

But that time and money would probably be more effective if spent on marketing or development.

need a 3rd party service to enforce copywrites and send out DMCA notices, not sure you can get power of attorney for that, or can just send with the signature of the copywrite owner
